Maybe growth was never supposed to be loud,
not fireworks in the sky,
not applause in crowded rooms,
not a moment you can point to and say — there it is.
Maybe it is quieter than that.
Like learning to breathe without asking permission.
Like staying when everything in you wanted to leave,
and leaving when everything in you begged to stay.
Maybe growth looks like silence
between the versions of yourself
that no longer speak the same language.
It is not always becoming more.
Sometimes it is becoming less —
less noise, less fear, less need to be understood.
You won’t always recognize it while it’s happening.
It doesn’t announce itself.
It arrives
in the way you stop repeating what hurt you,
in the way you no longer chase what confuses you,
in the way your inner world stops begging to be seen
by eyes that were never learning how to look gently.
Maybe growth was never meant to be loud.
Maybe it was meant to be lived
so softly
that only your life
notices the difference.
